her father is the actor Jon Voight and her mother is Marcheline Bertrand. At age 11, Angelina began to study theater. At age 16, she took up a career in modeling which help herappeared in some music videos. Slovak, French-Canadian, Iroquois and English is her mixed ancestry which smay derive her exotic good look. In the mid-1990s, Jolie appeared in various small films(Hackers, Foxfire) where she got notices, Jolie's acclaim increased when she played the lead role in the HBO production Gia (1998) (TV) which was a true story about a model. Because Jolie began to getfamous she also started to get in-depth attention from the press. Numerous aspects of her personal life became news. She got married with co-star Jonny Lee Miller but later on divorced, in 2000 shemarried co-star Billy Bob Thornton a man who was older than her, also ended in divorced in 2002. Jolie has decided that now she plans to spend most of her time in humanitarian efforts, and to financethem with her actress salary. Angelina adopted a boy named Maddox in a Cambodian refugee and in 2005 adopted an Ethiopian refugee girl named Zahara.

In 2004, Jolie began filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith(2005) with co-star Brad Pitt. The film was a major success. There were rumors that Pitt and Jolie had a romance while filming "Smith". Jolie say that because her mother had been hurt by adultery, shewill never do the same thing with a married man, therefore at that time there were no affair with Pitt. Later on in 2005 Pitt separated from his wife Jennifer Aniston and, after months he wasfrequently seen in public with Jolie, apparently as a couple.
