INTRODUCTION


Before talking about “Animal Farm”, here is a short description of what is exactly a book report.


A book report is similar to a summary of a book which includes a biography of the author that is very important to know because it explains the situation Eric, the author was living, a short narration of the whole problem because with that we can have an idea of the book, alittle description of the main characters to know the roll of each animal, the narrator to know how the author wrote the book and a conclusion which includes your opinion of the book and a recommendation of the book to a person that hasn’t read it yet.

BIOGRAPHY OF GEORGE ORWELL


His real name was Eric Blair. He was born on June 25th, 1903 in Bengal, India. He was educated at Eton; it was aschool where all the students were rich people and how he was there because of a scholar ship the rest of the students didn’t accepted him, making Eric been socialist. He used to write books about his life and he was a British periodist too.

With his books he used to express his political thoughts, with this refer that he wrote about the British Imperialism, the Socialist Justice and therejection to the Nazis.

He became to be famous when he wrote “Animal Farm” and “1984”.

He made service with the Indian Imperial Police in Burma and he served in the loyalist forces in the Spanish Civil War.

Besides “Animal Farm” and “1984” he wrote many novels more such as “ Down and out in Paris and London”, “Burmese days”, “coming up for the air” and others.

Before his death, in 1949 hegot married with Sonia Brownell and after this he died with 46 years old because he was sick of tuberculosis in January 21st, 1950.

PLOT

The book shows how the animals, which were living in Manor Farm, started a new life on their own after the rebellion they made. It develops how the pigs, who were the leaders above the rest of the animals, take place of the farm, abusing of theircomrades.

SUMMARY

This book is about a farm which belongs to a man, who is called Mr. Jones.

Many animals lived in this farm, such as pigs, dogs, cows, hens, horses, and more, who were living on an unhappy habitat. They feel this because they thought that their lives were miserable, laborious and slavery, they were used to say that they were not free, that the humans were exploiting them byeating the food they produced (milk, eggs) and leaving their work to the animals and finally saying that the situation has to change.

There were three pigs named Napoleon, Snowball and Old Major that were similar to the leaders of the rest of the animals, and they organized a rebellion.

This one took place one night that Mr. Jones forgot to give the animals food and they began the humans andtook over the farm.

The rebellion became a hit and they started planning something for the future: learning to read, studying and building the windmill, that was designed by Snowball who was the enemy of Napoleon.

Napoleon took the farm with his dogs, Jesse and Bluebell, while the construction of the windmill wasn’t finished, and with Squealer´s help continue manipulating the otheranimals making them believe that “Napoleon is always right”( George Orwell, 2009, p.56) and “whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy” (George Orwell, 2009, p.24).

The pigs were not complying the seven commandments, they establish that all the animals were equal but they didn’t work such as the other animals, they started living in the farm house, wearing clothes, drinking alcohol, walking in twolegs; and with all this changes in the pigs live, the other animals started been confused and seeing the pigs similar to the humans.
