Welcome to RSView32 Basics, a hands-on lab for RSView32. The purpose of this lab isto introduce
you to some basic RSView32 features, and to demonstrate the interoperability and connectivity of
some Rockwell Software products. You’ll see for yourself how to work with the Animate utility, how to
work with some productivity features in RSView32, and how to create a trend using the RSView32
TrendX ActiveX control.
During the course of our two-hour session, you’ll have a chanceto experiment with the following
products:
RSView32
Animate
RSView32 TrendX

Open an RSView32 project

Use the shortcut on your desktop to open the RSView32 project named LAB.rsv. The direct path is
C:\LAB\LAB.rsv.
Notice another shortcut to an RSView32 project named LAB SOLUTION.rsv. This is a completed
version of the LAB.rsv project that youcan reference after you’re finished. The direct path to this
project file is C:\LAB SOLUTION\LAB SOLUTION.rsv.

To open the project,
double-click this icon.

Explore Help

On the RSView32 main menu, click Help, and then click Contents.

To browse through topics by category, click the Contents tab.
To see a list of index entries, click the Index tab. Either type the word you’re looking for, or
scroll through the list.
To searchfor words or phrases, click the Find tab. Either type the word you’re looking for, or

Double-click the Animate shortcut provided on the desktop. The Animate utility generates
numbers and makes them available to other applications like RSView32.
