ÉTICA EMPRESARIAL EN TIEMPOS DE GLOBALIZACIÓN

Resumen
La globalización económica es un hecho de nuestro tiempo en el que no es posible dar marcha atrás y es urgente ver de que manera podemos y debemos orientar los mecanismos económicos y empresariales dentro de los procesos globalizadores en una dirección distinta, más allá del capitalismo salvaje.Conocemos ejemplos sobrados (casos como los de Enron, Parmalat o la pobreza creciente en gran parte del mundo) que han mostrado las deficiencias de una economía puramente utilitarista, centrada en la maximización del beneficio económico, que ha sacrificado componentes como confianza, integridad o transparencia, elementales para el buen funcionamiento de las empresas y de la economía en general.Pero este modo de concebir economía y empresa no es el único. Existen diversas propuestas desde dentro de la propia economía que están promoviendo una transformación ética de la misma y de las políticas democráticas de todo el mundo. Amartya Sen, Nobel de Economía 1998, es un claro ejemplo de esta nueva vía que pretende superar las deficiencias de una economía unilateral, revisando las institucionespolíticas y económicas, en virtud de una nueva economía que haga posible combinar competencia y cooperación, beneficio y justicia. Una economía en donde el crecimiento económico sea, no un fin en sí mismo, sino un instrumento para aumentar las libertades reales de las personas, y capaz de generar, más allá del beneficio económico, expectativas sociales, confianza, libertades.
Analizaremosalgunos aspectos primordiales, desde el enfoque de Sen, de la ética económica y empresarial en el camino de una transformación real de la economía tan necesaria para poner economía, empresa y tecnología al servicio de las personas y no al revés. Analizaremos algunas de las claves para una economía y unas empresas capaces de generar sociedades mejores, más “desarrolladas” económica, social yhumanamente.

Abstract
The economic globalization is a fact of our time, and it is not possible to go backwards. It is urgent to see in which way can and should we, orientate the economical and business mechanism of the global processeses in a diferent direction, beyond the wild capitalism.
We are aware ofmany examples (cases like Enron, Parmalat, or the growing poverty in most of the world) that have shown the faults of a purely utilitarian economy. This type of economy has concentrated in the maximization of the profit, leaving behind important things like trust, integrity or transparency, which are the bases for the good functioning of the companies and the economy in general.
But this way ofconceiving the economy and the business is not the only one. There are other porposals inside the economy, that promote an ethic change of the economy and the democratic policy in the whole world. Amartya Sen, nobel prize of economy 1998, is a clear example of this new way that attempt to improve the faults of an unilateral economy. He revise the political and economical institutions, by virtue ofa new economy that would make possible to combine, competition, cooperation, benefit and justice. An economy where the economical grow would be, not an end in itself, but a mean to expand the effective liberties of the people and capable of generating, beyond the economic profit, social expectations, trust and liberties.
In this presentation we will try to analyze, from Sen´s view, some of themost important aspects on business ethics. It is an attempt for a real transformation of the economy. An atempt to put the economy, business and tecnology at the service of the persons and not in the opposite way. We will analyse some of the keys to create an economy and business capable of generating better societies, with more economic, social and human development.
