1. How do the actions depicted in the background of each print indicate the escalation of the crisis? Whatis the significance of depicting Malcolm as being forced to drink tea?
The actions depicted in the background of each print indicate the escalation of the crisis that the colonistare showing revelation against the British and the British are trying to show the colonist that they still in power and they need the colonist. Malcolm is force to drink teabecause the colonist “dragged Malcolm from his house, gave him a “modern Jacket” of tar and feathers”. Those are some actions in the background of each print and why Malcolm was forceto drink tea.
2. What is the significance of the “Liberty Tree” in these prints? How is it being mocked? What role did the so-called Liberty Tree play during the Stamp Actcrisis?
The significance of the Liberty Tree in these prints it’s that it represents the liberty and freedom that the colonist want. It is also being mocked by having the colonistmade seem as the bad guys and also by having some colonist from Boston in a cage in the Liberty Tree. The importance of the Liberty tree is that it represents to the colonist notto give up and keep fighting for freedom. The importance of the Liberty Tree in these prints its that it mean freedom, and also rebellion of the colonist.
3. How might Britishand American audiences interpret these images differently? What opposing lessons might they have drawn from them?
The British audience might interpret these images as therebellion of the colonist against the British but the American audience can interpret these prints as a lie and that the colonist might deserved that for what they did to the colonist.
