We Nicaraguans are almost on the verge of a new electoral process. The people, by the free and secret vote, elect a new president who will govern the country's destiny during the period 2012-2017.The bone of contention is the illegitimate right of the government of the moment of wanting to run for presidential candidate. Even though Daniel Ortega has created certain popular programs that benefitthe population, I am against his re-election because of his mismanagement of the national budget and violation of Nicaraguan rights and democracy.
Many Nicaraguans support Daniel Ortega to becomethe President of Nicaragua for the second time. According to them, he has created many beneficial programs during his electoral period the last four years. For example, he was able to overcome energyproblems, which is totally incorrect and distorted, for he was the direct intellectual responsible of the rationing of energy during President Bolaños’ period, manipulating the private enterprise thatcontrolled the electric energy supply, Fenosa Union. Of course, once he “honestly” won the next elections, the situations would change. He was not going to sabotage himself. Moreover, the Orteguistasmention that the Zero Hunger Program, which includes the provision of hens, pigs, and cows, has greatly helped poor people subsist by eating from what these animals provide. This is incorrect andinsufficient because most of these people could not keep these animals alive due to lack of food, or they preferred to sell them and acquire the money to feed. They also say that this president has beenthe one who has been able to give the population the titles of their lands where their houses were already built. That is true, but it has not been enough at all.
