RESUMEN
Esta investigación fue realizada en las instalaciones del Sector
Porcino de la Facultad de Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia de la
Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, México, conel propósito de evaluar el efecto de la suplementación con suero
de leche (SL), sobre el crecimiento de las Vellosidades Intestinales (LVI) en esta especie y el crecimiento corporal y variables relacionadas. Se utilizaron treinta lechones homogéneos Landrace-Duroc x Pietrain, con un promedio de 5,49 ± 1,17 kg de peso
vivo (PV), los cuales fueron distribuidos aleatoriamente a tres
grupos: GTestigo(n=10), alimentación: concentrado comercial ad libitum (CCad); Grupo 1 (n=10), CCad más 1,5 L d–1 de suero de
leche (SL)/cerdo y Grupo 2 (n=10), CCad más 3,0 L d–1SL/cerdo.
Cada lechón se pesó semanalmente hasta los 20 kg de PV. Al finalizar el experimento se obtuvieron porciones de 10 cm de intestino delgado de seis lechones (n=2/Grupo), con el propósito
de medir la longitud de las LVI. Se evaluóPV, ganancia diaria de
peso (GDP), consumo de alimento/semana (CA) y LVI. El análisis estadístico fue realizado con el procedimiento GLM, con mediciones repetidas. A la 7ª semana de edad, el PV del Grupo1
fue de 21,9 kg (P<0,05) vs 18,8 kg (GTestigo) y 20,8 kg (Grupo 2) a
la 8ª semana. El CA y GDP fueron mayores (P<0,05) en el Grupo 1. La LVI fue estadísticamente igual en los Grupos 1 y 2; peroambas fueron mayores a las del GTestigo (P<0,05). El consumo de
SL (1,5 ó 3,0 L d–1) incrementa la LVI. Pero 1,5 L d–1 de SL mejo-

ra el CA, GDP y PV del lechón y reduce la etapa de 6-20 kg
en una semana.

ABSTRACT
This research was carried out at the pig sector facilities,of the
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Universidad Michoacana
de San Nicolas de Hidalgo, Mexico, in order to evaluate the
effect of supplementation with bovine milk whey (SL), on
growth of intestinal villi (LVI) in this specie, and body growth
and related variables. Thirty homogeneous piglets LandraceDuroc x Pietran with average body weight of 5.49 ± 1.17,
which were randomized to threegroups: Gcontrol (n=10), which
received a commercial concentrate ad libitum (CCad); Group
1, (n=10), which received the same diet, but it was added 1.5
L d–1 SL/pig and Group 2 was the fed the same but 3.0 L d–1
SL/pig was added to the diet. Each piglet was weighted
weekly until they were 20 Kg of live weight. At the end of the
experiment, there were obtained samples of 10 cm, from the
duodenum,jejunum and ileum (n=2/Group), with the purpose
of measuring LVI. The response variables were: Body Weight
(PV); Average Daily Gain (GDP); Feed Intake/week (CA) and
LVI. Statistical analyses were performed by using the GLM
Procedure. Results showed that by the 7th week of age, the
PV of Group 1 mean was 21.9 Kg, whereas Gcontrol was only
18.8 Kg (P<0.05), and Group 2 was 20.8 Kg at the 8th week....
