RESUMEN
En el presente artículo se realizara una observación de lo que es la toracotomía de urgencias, con su objetivo e indicaciones.
La toracotomía deurgencias es una técnica la cual ha sido utilizada en los últimos años y tiene dos formas de incidir puede ser antero- lateral o postero-lateral es para salvar la vida del paciente ya que el pacienteesta inestable. Normalmente esta cirugía se realiza por un taponamiento cardiaco, por lesiones torácicas por violencia, hemorragia en toda la cavidad torácica como lo es el pulmón, esófago, diafragma ylos grandes vasos como la aorta descendente.
