The song I´ve choosen is Romeo and Juliet from Dire Straits. This song is about a couple who are in love, but they break upbecause "The time wasn't right." It's a sad feeling, as the guy will always love the girl who he can’t be with due to the fact that the girl is not looking for love or affection, she is looking forgold and silver chains as the song says “Where you can fall for chains of silver you can fall for chains of gold”. And this is their problem since they beggan being together “the dice were loaded fromthe start”.
The song is a tragic way to see the relationships from the point of view of the songwriter (Mark Knopfler) settled in Shakespeare’s classic novel of Romeo and Juliet. This song wasinspired by Mark Knopfler's broken romance with Holly Vincent, who was the leader of the band “Holly And The Italians”.

The emotional involvement of the songwriter was such that at times he mentions hislove literally in the song. The line, "Now you just say, oh Romeo, yeah, you know I used to have a scene with him," came from an interview where Holly Vincent was quoted as saying: "What happened wasthat I had a scene with Mark Knopfler and it got to the point where he couldn't handle it and we split up."

I couldn’t talk about the metrics neither the rythm but it doesn’t matter because this isa dialog not only between two persons but a shout to the desesperation and the frustation to the world where the autor lives, where love is not important for people, but selfishness and avarice are.This is a sad man that roams through the sidewalks of the streets, looking for a corner where he can forget everything.
