In 2009, was released a movie that was one of worst American movie of that year. The movie is called “Dragon Ball Evolution”, it is supposed to be the adaptation of the Dragon Ball Series, I saysupposed, because the only thing that has in common with the series is the name of the characters. I’m gonna talk about the plot and make some comparisons with the series.
First of all, the movie isbased in the return of Piccolo. He is the bad guy who was trapped thousands years ago but now he is back to collect the dragon balls to make a hell in the earth. Well, the problem is when we talk aboutthe main character Goku in the movie he is a teenager who attempts to high school and is always disturbed by the bullies, lives with his grandpa Gohan who teaches him martial arts, but he is notsupposed to used it to cause damage to others well and also has a his grandpa keeps the secret of Goku origins. The point is that when Goku in the series fights Piccolo he is still a young boy and he hasnever been in school. Well the story continues and Piccolo kills grandpa in order to steal the dragon ball, but he could find it, the Goku was in a party with the girl he loves whos name is Milk and whenarrives home have their last talk ,then he met Bulma who is his partner and her behavior is totally different from the series.
They travel around the world in order to find the dragon balls “tosave the world”, they met Master Roshi who again is totally different, he must have been changed by other actor. Well, in the last battle with Piccolo result that Goku is his lost servant and with thefascinating legendary eclipse he transform in a beast, but in this trance he remember his grandpa and break the spell and with his new technique, the Kame-hame-ha, manages to kill Piccolo.
20th CenturyFox is the Studio that bring this kind of things, an example of which is Street fighter.
This plot was an insult to my childhood and everybody who saw the series.
