Sandra: Oh, David, it's nice to see you! I heard your wife just landed a newjob in my home country.
David: Hi Sandra! Yeah, it looks like we're going to be moving to Berlin thissummer. A few moredetails still need to be ironed out, but it's pretty much asure thing.
Sandra: Berlin!
Sandra: You must be excited about the move, then?
David: Absolutely! We're really looking forward to it. It's aonce-in-a-lifetimechance to experience a new culture. Plus, it'll give me a chance to brush up onmy German.
Sandra: It sure will! There's nothing like total immersion for learning alanguage.
Sandra:Doesn't the idea of moving halfway around the world make younervous?
David: I do have some misgivings about such a significant change. I washoping that you might be able to give me some guidance,since I know you'vegone through a similar experience.
Sandra: Just try to enjoy all the new experiences that life in Berlin will offeryou.
Sandra: What's your housing situation like? Do you know whereyou're going tobe living?
David: Actually, nothing's set in stone yet, but because my wife's office isdowntown, we've been hoping to find something within the city limits.
Sandra: You should checkout the Mitte district. If you're lucky, you might beable to find a place overlooking the Tiergarten park.
David: Great idea! That would be a huge weight off my shoulders. I'd bethrilled if we couldfind a place before we relocate.
Sandra: If you'd like, I'll give you a list of websites you could use.
Sandra: When exactly will the two of you be heading over there?
David: Mary is leavingwithout me in May. I've got a few loose ends to tie upso I won't be joining her till later. Ideally, she'll have found her bearings by thetime I get there.
Sandra: Won't it be hard for her to be therealone?
David: Actually, she'll be very busy. By the time I get there, she'll have beentaking German lessons for two months, so she'll be able to help me with all thebureaucratic rigmarole.
