The way to change your behavior is to change your attitude. To change your attitude, you must separate the stimulus from the response. By changing your attitude you automatically change: Your perspective~The way you interpret things~The decisions you make~The actions you take~The results you get.
We tendto stubbornly hold on to our attitudes. They become habits. We learn to justify them. We have reasons and excuses for them. You can choose to give up all of your reasons and excuses. Just give them up. Would you rather have your reasons and excuses, or would you rather get results? Change your beliefs and create an empowering attitude.
Attitude is a filter for everything going into your mind andeverything coming out of your mind. Right now you have no idea what you are thinking because your attitude is unique to you. It's not a matter of having a bad or good attitude. Everyone's attitude is influenced by so many thoughts at one time that it is almost inevitable that your attitude is always a mixture of positive and negative words and images.
The longer you live, the more you realizethe impact of attitude on your life. Attitude, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home....a friendship.....a relationship. The only thing wecan really control in this life is our own mental attitudes. We should try to remember that all we are dealing with is thoughts, and thoughts can be changed. We may not have control over our circumstances, but we do have control over our thoughts and we can choose how we will respond to the things that happen to us.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we willembrace for that day. We cannot change our past and we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it. And so it is within you that we are in charge of our attitudes.
Changing your attitude ispracticing freedom-Attitude comes from within us. We all determine our attitude. We may blame others, circumstances or events for our situation, however, the key is our response to those things or people. The most important decision we make in our lives is the attitude we choose to express each day when dealing with people or circumstances. Our subconscious minds will accept whatever we choose tobelieve. There is no person, no place and no thing that has any power over us, for "we" are the only thinkers in our mind. We are all going to have pain, but misery is optional and we all have choices. It is up to us to decide how we will react to the pain that inevitably comes to us all.
The key is the realization that we choose. You purposefully choose your attitude. Choosing a positive state ofmind will lead to virtually unlimited success in your life. A negative attitude will lead to unhappiness, poor relationships, difficulty at work and ultimately, poor health. In fact the most common causes of death in the United States are heart disease and cancer, which are related to stress which has the worst side-effect of a bad attitude.
