Firefighters Battle Smoky Park Ave. Fire

Cranston, Rhode Island. – Members of the Cranston Fire Department battled a smoky fire that broke out shortly before9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in a commercial building on Park Avenue.
The fire appears to have started in a garage used by Cullco Auto Sales at 1300 Park Ave. and firefighters made quick work of theblaze, using foam to keep the fire under control.
It is unclear how badly the building was damaged, but nobody was hurt and everyone inside made it out quickly.
Cullco Auto Sales share the building withCigar World. Both businesses appeared to have suffered damage.
A nearby resident said he was backing out of his driveway when he saw a huge black plume of smoke rising from the building.
“At leastnobody was hurt,” he said.
Park Avenue was closed as crews staged on the street to fight the fire.
The fire remains under investigation.
