How I Learnt to Cook
Cooking is one of the most difficult abilities to develop. One of the hardest things I have ever had to do was learn how to cook. I was always afraid of spoiling food, but Idecided that cooking was an important skill that I had to learn. I also thought it would be good to overcome those stereotypes that people have that cooking is only for women. I realized that learning tocook was enjoyable and sometimes a little bit dangerous.
The first day that I learnt to cook, I was excited and a little bit nervous, so I asked my mom to help me with the classes and she agreed.After that, I began cooking rice because it was easy to prepare. I began preparing all the ingredients for the rice. When I had all the ingredients ready, I put them on a saucepan. I followed every stepthat my mom said. After thirty minutes, the rice was done a little bit salty, but it was delicious.
Then I began cooking something that I love which is spicy fried chicken. I began preparing thechicken with all the ingredients. After that, I put a saucepan with a lot of oil in the stove. But when I put the chicken in the oil, I had to be worry because a drop of hot oil fell on my face. As aresult, I got an oil burn on my face. It hurt, but it did not stop me to continue my recipe that day. After a couple of minutes, my spicy fried chicken was ready, my mom said that I was too spacy, butfor me it was delicious.
Finally, I did a salad with a sour and sweet sauce. It was a new salad that I wanted to try that day. I began cutting all the vegetables for the salad. Then, I put them in abowl, and I mix them. After I had all the ingredients ready, I added the sour and sweet sauce, and I left the salad for a while. Later on, I served the rice, chicken and the salad on a dish, and itsmelled so good that I got hungry. I felt so proud that day because I had cooked my first dish all by myself.
Learning to cook was not easy for me, but at the end, I enjoyed it that day. Even though...
