Barack Obama´s reelection as the best hope for the United States

At the time when President Barack Obama took office in 2008, not only the Americans experienced a feeling that a new strategic era was beginning but also the rest of the world. Wrong decisions such as going to war in 2002 that were made during President George W. Bush’s administration had the opportunity could be correctedduring Obama´s administration. Today, due to the goals achieved related to health care, and the well organized foreign policy of the United States, among others, President Barack Obama stands a good chance at reelection.
As mentioned in the text of Michal Hirsh just before September 2001, the country was in its best situation for years. The Americans were winners at the end of the Cold War, makingthem the only hegemonic state in the world. U.S.A. citizens enjoyed “… a booming economy worth $10 trillion, a budget surplus, some of the strongest capital spending in decades, low unemployment, and little inflation.” (Hirsch, M.). This quote illustrates the prosperous and powerful moment that Americans lived, which could have led to the inattention that followed after the incident of September11th.
Along the same lines, the United States of America under President Bush in 2002, decided to fight a war against the Islamic terrorism that still hounds Americans today; however, under the Obama’s Administration it has been clarified that the war was against Al- Qaida, that planned the terrorist-suicide attack on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center, not against the Islamic religion itself. The war was a result of the incompetence of the strategies taken by the Bush Administration. According to Michal Hirsh, George W. Bush was rated as the worst President in American history for the consequences faced by the American economy and people. With the Iraq War resolution, President Bush started a war against Islam, invading a country with no evidence against it.
The first decade of thetwenty-first century is qualified as a disasterous age that brought crisis and instability to the United States of America and consequently to the world. Furthermore three trillion dollars of the American debt of fourteen trillion is the result of the period of war during President Bush’s Administration. Nevertheless, America has not yet lost its hegemonic power Americans remain strong, which is anoutcome from the strategies to reverse the damage that have been implemented by Barack Obama in the last four years.
The Barack Obama campaign started with a personal image of the candidate that could really make a difference because he was unique. Barack Obama’s personal image, illustrated him as the young African American with ideas of peace and an open ideology. Also, with the intention torepair the wrong decisions that led The United Sates to the decline. In short, he was and will be the president that would highlight American values again by restoring the foreign policy of the U.S.A.
In a world of crisis, the proposals mentioned by Zbigniew Brzezinski which were made by Barack Obama before starting his administration such as avoiding considering Islam as an enemy, offering the USas a mediator in the conflict between Palestine and Israel, negotiating with Iran over its nuclear weapons policy, all worked to improve the U.S. – Russian relations accepting post Cold War geopolitical realities, this prompted Obama´s reception of the Nobel Peace Prize. The importance of all the proposals above is what today has become a reality and what remains without a solution. PresidentBarack Obama has aimed to strengthen the relations with other countries and has also somehow begun to stop the war in the Middle East.
Perhaps Obama´s foreign policy has been the best improvement during his administration. The intervention in the Middle East has been reduced and it can be demonstrated by the position of the United States during the Arab Spring and with the plan to withdraw the...
