Isaac Asimov

(Petrovichi, Smolensk, 1920 - New York, 1992) American writer of Russian origin who emphasized especially in the genre of science fiction and disclosure cientítica.

Born into aJewish family, was the eldest son of the marriage of Judah Asimov and Anna Rachel Berman. Some biographers mistakenly set his birth on October 4, 1919, regardless of the fact that his mother changed thedate for the purpose of that little Isaac could enter the public school one year before he was for his age .
In early 1923, the Asimov family left the newly created Soviet Union to move to the UnitedStates of America. Installed at first in the New York borough of Brooklyn (mostly inhabited by Jewish citizens), the Asimov came forward in their new country through the candy store run by the headof the family business was gradually thriving and changing location.
This precocity encouraged his parents to provide an early schooling, so that his mother falsified his date of birth to enable theirincome, in 1925, in a public school in New York.He completed his training after high school in East New York Junior High School, graduating in 1930, then went to Boys High School, where he remaineduntil 1935, year that once brilliantly completed his undergraduate studies, was found ready to undertake their higher education with only fifteen years old.
Enrolled in New York at Columbia Universityin 1935, four years after Isaac Asimov had already achieved a degree in Chemistry, then allowed new college graduate in Arts and Sciences and a doctorate in Philosophy. Against the wishes of theirparents, who hoped to devote himself to the practice of medicine, Asimov decided his future career necessarily spent by the cultivation of literature.
