Introduction
One Direction es una boyband británica formada por Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan & Zayn Malik que participó en la edición de 2010 del programa X Factor, donde quedaron terceros.
En un principio los chicosse presentaron por separado en el programa, pero no pasaron la prueba en el bootcamp del programa. Cuando bajaron del escenario, fueron llamados otra vez a él y fue cuando One Direction se formó. La idea de juntarlos fue de Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger y Louis Walsh.



Desarrollo
During his participation in X Factor, the group was never nominated to leave the program and everyone hadthem as clear favorites to win. In the contest, sang the following songs: Torn, Summer of 69, Kids of America, My life would suck without you, Total eclipse of my heart, All you need is love, Your song and Only girl (in the world). In the end they sang along to the song Robbie Williams She's the one and chose as single Forever Young.

Although Simon Cowell had made clear that he would only recordcontract for the winner of the program, the day after they finalize, One Direction met with him and informed them that Syco Music would have them.


History:
One Direction is a five-member vocal group made up of Liam Payne (born 29 August 1993 in Wolverhampton), a student of music technology at City of Wolverhampton College, [128] [129] Luis Tomlinson (born December 24, 199(citation needed] inDoncaster), a student at Hall Cross School [130] Niall Horan (born September 13, 1993 [citation needed] in Mullingar, Westmeath, Ireland), a student of Colaiste Mhuire, Mullingar. [131] Harry Styles (born February 1, 1994 [citation needed] from Holmes Chapel, Cheshire) a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School [132] and Zayn Malik [133] (born Zain Malik, January 12, 1993), [134] (thisBowling, Bradford) [135] a student at Tong High School. [136] They presented their candidacy solo competition, but failed to qualify for the category of children. After assessment a suggestion judge Nicole Scherzinger, the five youths were placed in a band, so they can choose the category of groups.
Payne had auditioned in 2008 to The X Factor fifth series when he was 14 and reached judges' houses,but Cowell thought he was not ready for the competition and asked him to return in two years. [129] This time Cowell chose him to be part of an address. Styles was the lead singer of the band White Eskimo with band members lead guitarist Haydn Morris, bassist Nick Clough and drummer Will Sweeny [132]. Malik was noted for being nervous in bootcamp, and when told he had to dance, he decided to remainbackstage, effectively running the risk of elimination. Cowell noticed Malik missing from the dance routine and went backstage and convinced him to return.
For their qualifying song, and their first song as a group, at the judges houses, One Direction sang an acoustic version of "Torn". In week 1 of the live shows, they performed "Viva la Vida" and were safe for the week. Week 2 was "MusicalHeroes", and One Direction sang "My life would suck without you", which received positive comments from the judges; Minogue called them "five heartthrobs" [citation needed], and praised their performance, Cole called them "cute "[citation needed] and Cowell said" You are the most exciting pop band in the country right now.
