Biography of Eoin Colfer

Eoin Colfer (born May 14, 1965) is an Irish writer. Among his works include the series of Artemis Fowl. Born and raised in Wexford, Ireland. He has four brothers.

As achild attended school Wexford Christian Brothers School. His father, Billy, was an elementary school teacher and artist and historian. His mother, Noreen, was a drama teacher.

Since the primaryshowed great passion for writing. when he was in sixth grade he wrote his first work: a play about Vikings in which all the characters died except him. In 1986, Colfer was received as a school teacher,but continued writing in his spare time.

After leaving school, he earned his degree at the University of Dublin and qualified for elementary teacher, returning to work in Wexford.

His firstbook, Benny and Omar, based on his experiences in Tunisia, was published in 1998. And then was translated into several languages. In 2001, he published the first book in the Artemis Fowl series, whichallowed him to leave his teaching job and devote full time to writing.

Currently, Eoin Colfer lives in Ireland with his wife and two children.

One of his most famous is "I will continue writinguntil people stop reading or I run out of ideas. Luckily, none of this will happen soon."
