He was raised in a poor family with five siblings, Paul, Isis, Tony, Jean, andGillian. Their possessions were limited, and they did not have indoor plumbing. At the age of fifteen, Osbourne dropped out of school to work to help out with money. He worked in various jobs; he worked with a plumber, at a slaughter house, and at a car factory with his mother testing car horns. When he realized his income was low, he went on to making small crimes, and was arrested for robbery. Whilein prison he made himself the famous O-Z-Z-Y tattoo across his knuckles with a needle. Throughout his teen years he grew to be a huge fan of the popular band The Beatles. He admired them greatly; it was the only music he heard. He wanted to become just like them. He was vocalist of Black Sabbath but he was fired for his addiction to drugs and his alcoholism. This depressed him and led him toseclusion. This was near deadly for him because in his loneliness he would be doing drugs and drinking. One day Sharon Arden, daughter of Black Sabbath manager Don Arden, and would-be manager and wife of Osbourne, went to his room and witnessed his dire state. She then decided to help him go back to his musical career, and then on September 20, 1980, The Prince of Darkness was brought back to life withThe Blizzard of Ozz. Osbourne chose the record label CBS to record his album. Sharon gave the idea to take doves of peace to the office of CBS. The album was successful and found commercial success. The press got news of Osbourne’s actions and atconcerts the audience would throw animals at him. He picked up a bat thinking, thinking it was plastic, and bit its head off. This caused a lot of controversy. When he was about to tour, his guitarist, and close friend, Randy Rhodes died in a terrible plane crash. This led Osbourne to make Tribute, an album dedicated to his friend. Even though he suffered a tragic loss, Osbourne hired a new guitaristand continued the tour. He later on made a live recording called Speak of The Devil. Osbourne later got Zakk Wylde as the guitarist. Wylde has been recording with Ozzy for most of Osbourne’s career. A big hit was the album No More Tears, released in 1992. In 2009 Osbourne decided to fire Wylde because he did not want his music to sound like Wylde’s side band Black Label Society. After firing Wylde,Osbourne got a new guitarist, Greg G, and recorded the song Scream, and stated that his new album, Let Me Hear You Scream was due in the summer of 2010.
