THE OLYMPIC GAMES

The Olympic Games are multidisciplinary sports where participating athletes from around the world.

HISTORY
* The Olympic Games were born in Olympia, Greece with a sacredcharacter, that festival was dedicated to the god Zeus, within a religious compound, where the Greeks agreed to renounce war for the purpose of worshiping the gods of Olympus.
* The first OlympicGames were concluded in 776 B.C until 393 A.C, where the roman emperor TEODOSIO suppressed the Olympic Games.
* women couldn't participate like athletes or spectators, because the athletescompeted naked
* In 1894 the 23 of June, COUBERTIN proclaimed the restoration of the Olympic games where they acquired international character.
* The first modern Olympic Games were celebrated onAthens in 1866.

OLYMPIC MOTTO
Citius, altius, fortius. That motto means faster, higher, stronger.

SYMBOLS* TORCH: is used to symbolize purity, righteousness and peace among nations.
* Olympic flag: is formed by five rings of blue, black, red, yellow and green on a white background, symbolizingthe five continents united by the spirit of sport.
