Both eating disorders typically begin after a period of dieting by people who are fearful of becoming obese; driven to become thin; preoccupied withfood, weight, and appearance; and struggling with feelings of depression, anxiety, and the need to be perfect. Since they are eating disorders they have some negative effects on the human body. One ofthem is medical or health problems. Another negative effect mental issues and damages. Social situations are also a consequence.

Individuals suffering from anorexia have extreme weight loss. Weight loss is usually 15% below the person's normal bodyweight. Some of the common techniques used are excessive exercise, intake of laxatives and not eating and of course this has bad consequences. There are many medical risks associated with anorexia.They include: shrunken bones, mineral loss, low body temperature, irregular heartbeat, permanent failure of normal growth, infertility, development of osteoporosis, kidney damage, and seizures.
