Brazil officially the Federative Republic of Brazil is the largest country in South America and in the Latin America region. It is the world's fifth largest country, bothby geographical area and by population with over 193 million people.[11][4] It is the largest Lusophone country in the world, and the only one in the AmericasA Lusophone (or lusophone) is someone who speaks the Portuguese language
Brazil covers almost half of all South America. It borders every South American country except Chile and Ecuador.
Thecountry is divided politically into 27 states and the Federal District of Brasilia, capital of the nation.
