What is Buddhism?
Buddhism is a religion that haves a variety of traditions, beliefs and practices based on teachings attributed to Siddhartha Gautama, commonly known as Buddhaand in that religion means the awakened one or enlightened teacher, who lived and taught in the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent, between the 6th and 4th centuries BCE. Buddha helped sensitivebeings end their suffering through eliminating ignorance by understanding and seeing the dependent origination of their problem and eliminating craving, and the people he helped obtain the highesthappiness. Buddha taught people how to solve their problems using meditation, and the path of awakening, he combined yoga to his new method for creating a new kind of human, one without egoism.
As inChristianity, Buddhism has different types of religions, they adore the same god but they have differences. One of those religions is the Theravada followed in Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia. The otherone is the Mahayana and is found throughout East Asia (China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Taiwan etc.) and includes the traditions of Pure Land, Zen, Nichiren Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism, Shingon,and Tiantai . In some classifications, Vajrayana is practiced mainly in Tibet and Mongolia, and adjacent parts of China and Russia, it is recognized as a third religion, but it can also beclassified as a part of Mahayana.
Even though Buddhism remains most popular within Asia, both religions the Theravada and the Mahayana are now found throughout the entire world.
The practices and the basisof the Buddhism are what they call the Three Jewels: the Buddha, the Dharma , and the Sangha, the Dharma is the teachers and the Sangha is the community. Taking "refuge in the triple gem" hastraditionally been a declaration and commitment to being on the Buddhist path, and in general distinguishes a Buddhist from a non-Buddhist. Other practices of the Buddhism according to their ethical path...
