  Busan
  is
  a
  city
  located
  in
  the
  coast
  of
  the
 southeastern
  tip
  of
  the
  Korean
  peninsula,
  next
  to
  the
  sea.
  The
  longest
  river
  in
  South
  Korea,
  the
  Nakdong
  River,
  passes
  through
  Busan
 by
 the
 west
 side,
 flowing
 there
 into
 the
 sea.
  Surrounded
  by
  mountains
  at
  the
  west
  and
  at
  the  north,
 the
 city
 has
 been
 developed
 towards
 the
 sea,
  which
  explains
  why
  its
  port
  is
  so
  important
  in
  Korean
 economy.
 
 
  Busan’s
  climate
  is
  very
  soft.
  Extreme
  temperatures
  are
  very
  rare,
  and
  rainfalls
  are
  concentrated
 in summer.
 There
 may
 be
 typhoons
 at
  that
  time
  due
  to
  the
  hotness
  and
  the
  humidity,
  even
  though
  these
  atmospheric
  phenomena
  aren’t
  frequent
 in
 the
 given

  Busan
  is
  the
  second
  largest
  city
  in
  South
  Korea
 after
  Seoul,
  with
  a
  population
  of
  approximately
  3.6
  million
  (this
  figure
  has
  almost
  triplicated
  in
  the
  last
  50
  years).
  Its
  metropolitan
  area,
  which  includes
 the
 cities
 of
 Gimhae
 and
  Yangsan,
  has
  almost
  4.4
  million
  inhabitants.
  Nowadays,
  the
  city
  has
 been
 divided
 into
 15
 districts
  and
 1
 county.
