Susanita, in the other hand, as many other Mexican woman living in the American culture, are seen by many gringos as thebest wife for their Mexican old-fashioned cleaning and cooking skills. Those Mexicanas can be either 1st, 2nd or even 3rd generation, as long as they keep the culture, for being known as quiet and goodwomen that, as Dona Maria Petronilla did for most of the years of her marriage, put their husband’s needs and will before hers.
