Our Story
Founded in 1989 by Anthony and Sergio Azzollini, Caffe Roma is built on the experience of three generations of the Azzollini family. Father Sergio came to San Francisco fromItaly over 30 years ago to open the first coffeehouse on Columbus Avenue in 1977.
Anthony was born in the United States and Roma is driven by Tony's passion for coffee - excellent coffee.
Caffe Roma'sreputation for the highest quality coffee blends and the warm atmosphere of its two coffee bars have made it the choice of restaurants and individuals alike. You can find Caffe Roma coffees at manyprestigious San Francisco restaurants, or of course you're always welcome to come in for a cup at one of our two retail locations: 526 Columbus Avenue @ Union (North Beach) and 885 Bryant Street @ 7th(SOMA), both in San Francisco.

CaffeRoma's reputation for the highest quality coffee blends and the warm, friendly customer service, have made it the choice of many prestigious restaurants and cafes in San Francisco and other citiesalike.
We offer a complete line of freshly roasted coffees, custom blends, commercial equipment (Espresso machines), service, installation and staff training. Our traditional Northern and SouthernItalian style coffees are roasted in North Beach and in our South of Market (SOMA-ROMA) store. We only roast with 100% Arabica beans and our roasting techniques date back to old Italy. Each blend is roastedslowly to bring out the sweet character of the bean. Our roasters are Italian and German made, and electronically control time and temperature. We do not quench (water-down) our coffees. The roastedbeans are air cooled to preserve their special qualities and characters.
