In order to give a better presentation to a database, you can organize the information you want to exhibit in a report. This report may include calculatedcontrols, which are useful in order to obtain the result of an operation realized between database´s fields. Calculated controls can be saved initially from a query, which after will be occupy by thereport. The reports are usually created with the help of the wizard, which allows you to select the fields you want to use, group and sort them, change their layout, orientation, style and name. Inthe design view of a report you can modify it, there is divided in different kind of groups: for example, the page and report headers can be modify from the design view, but not the detail one. In thereport footer you can insert a box that will contain new data and will be shown in the report, this is done by getting into the design tab or report design tools, in the controls group, select text boxand draw it in the area you want. This is by default considerate unbounded, to change this you only need to type inside them and write, in this case, the calculated control as an excel function butusing square brackets. You can modify the box size, move its location, align and label the inside text and change more of its properties. In order to add a new box with a calculated control in eachmain field, you need to go to the design tab or report design tools, in the grouping and totals group, select group and sort; in the lower window of group, sort and total, in the more options group,select sort and total and add group footer. When you return to the report view you can notice the changes that were done.
