JustIFICAtION In Colombia, cervical cancer ishigh incidence and mortality. This is more common in women of low socioeconomic status, sexually active and high multiparty. This cancer is strongly associated with early age at first intercourse andmultiple sexual partners in both the women and their partners. The cytology screening effectively reduces by 60% the incidence and mortality from invasive cervical cancer in populations that are subjected to systematic screening.
