En este capitulo el caballero decide que tiene que salir deesa armadura no por su familia, sino por si mismo, se lo debe. Merlín le dice que se tiene que marchar, pero no por el camino del que venía, que era el de la mentira, los celos y latraición, sino por otro mucho más empinado y estrecho, el camino de la verdad. Con esto hace una metáfora, es muy fácil caminar por la vida mintiendo, teniendo celos, pero ir siempre con laverdad por delante, es mucho más difícil. Merlín le dice que cuando llegue a la cima de la montaña que hay al final de este castillo se podrá librar de la armadura. Por el camino seencontrará con tres castillos el del Silencio, el del Conocimiento y el de la Voluntad y Osadía. Estos tres castillos son los pasos hacia el conocimiento personal y el amor hacia uno mismo.En esta difícil tarea le acompañan Ardilla y Rebeca. Estos dos personajes representan a la familia y a los amigos que incluso en los momentos más duros están con nosotros apoyándonos.
