RESUMEN

La diabetes es la segunda patología que más frecuentemente complica el embarazo produciendo efectos deletéreos sobre el binomio materno-fetal. La placenta, órgano fundamental de la gestación sufre modificaciones macroscópicas en la embarazada diabética. La ecografía es una técnica no invasiva de amplio uso en elcontrol prenatal, que permite visualizar las estructuras feto-placentarias. Se planteó esta investigación cuyo objetivo general fue determinar las características ecográficas de placenta en diabéticas con 36 semanas o más de embarazo ingresadas al Hospital Central de Maracay durante el año 2008, además de caracterizar la muestra en cuanto a la edad, número de gestas y tipo de diabetes y determinaruna posible asociación entre el tipo de diabetes y hallazgos como lagunas y calcificaciones placentarias. La investigación fue cuantitativa de campo, tipo descriptiva. La población estuvo constituida por las pacientes embarazadas de 36 semanas o más según fecha de última menstruación ingresadas al Hospital Central de Maracay con el diagnóstico de diabetes durante el 2008. Para el desarrollo dela investigación se elaboró y aplicó, previa validación, un instrumento, donde se recogieron datos clínicos y ecográficos relativos a la placenta como: ubicación, tipo de ecogenicidad, grosor, presencia de calcificaciones, presencia de lagunas y grado de madurez según Grannum. La diabetes gestacional y las múltiples gestas representaron más del 60%. No se encontraron datos significativos encuanto a la ubicación y grado de madurez. Las pacientes con diabetes mellitus tienen con mayor frecuencia lagunas y calcificaciones placentarias.

ECOGRAPHY CHARACTERISTIC OF THE PLACENTA IN DIABETIC WITH 36 WEEKS OR MORE OF PREGNANCY. CENTRAL HOSPITAL DE MARACAY. 2008.

The diabetes is the second condition thatdamages the pregnancy producing bad effects on the maternal-fetal binomial. The placenta, fundamental organ of the gestation undergoes macrocospic modifications in the diabetic pregnant woman. Ecography is a noninvasive technique of ample use in the prenatal control, that allows to visualize the fetus-placental structures. This investigation whose general mission was to determine the ecographyscharacteristics of placenta in diabetics with 36 weeks or more of pregnancy entered the Central Hospital of Maracay during the 2008, besides characterizing the sample as far as the age, number of deeds and type of diabetes considered and determining a possible association between the type of diabetes and findings like lagoons and placental calcifications.
