The man I am going to presentis considered as one of the most important North American astronomers and science revealers of the last decades. He was a man who had the ability to make it easy to understand science. He dedicated a big part of his life to the research of alien life. He wrote and presented a TV program to teach people about the stars and the universe. He worked for the NASA and he was also a teacher in theUniversity of Harvard. He studied the solar system and discovered important facts about the planets. He wrote many books about space exploration and participated in a lot of projects aimed to discover life in different parts of the universe. His name is Carl Edward Sagan.

PERSONAL AND FAMILY DATA
Carl Sagan was born on November 9 in 1934 in Brooklyn New York and hedied on December 20, 1992 in Seattle Washington at the age of 62. Sagan was the world's most famous astronomer. Among his many activities as a scientist, he contributed to the discovery that the atmosphere of Venus is very hot and dense, and found evidence that Saturn's moon Titan contains oceans stocked with the building blocks of life. Sagan was an outspoken proponent of the search forextra-terrestrial life, including sending probes to other planets and listening with large radio telescopes for signals from intelligent aliens. Sagan's outstanding ability to explain allowed almost a billion people to better understand the cosmos in which they live. CARL SAGAN was the David Duncan Professor of Astronomy and Space Sciences and Director of the Laboratory for Planetary Studies at CornellUniversity. He played a leading role in the American space program since its inception. He was a consultant and adviser to NASA since the 1950's, briefed the Apollo astronauts before their flights to the Moon, and was an experimenter on the Mariner, Viking, Voyager, and Galileo expeditions to the planets. He helped solve the mysteries of the high temperatures of Venus, he found that it was due to amassive greenhouse effect. And about the seasonal changes on Mars, he found that it was because of windblown dust, and the reddish haze of Titan he explained that it was because of the presence of complex organic molecules.

For his work, Dr. Sagan received the NASA medals for Exceptional Scientific Achievement and (twice) for Distinguished Public Service, as well as the NASA Apollo AchievementAward. Asteroid 2709 Sagan is named after him. He was also awarded the John F. Kennedy Astronautics Award of the American Astronautical Society, the Explorers Club 75th Anniversary Award, the Konstantin Tsiolkovsky Medal of the Soviet Cosmonauts Federation, and the Masursky Award of the American Astronomical Society, ("for his extraordinary contributions to the development of planetary science…As ascientist trained in both astronomy and biology, Dr. Sagan has made seminal contributions to the study of planetary atmospheres, planetary surfaces, the history of the Earth, and exobiology. Many of the most productive planetary scientists working today are his present and former students and associates").
