Task: Barceló’s Article-Opinion
Well after reading the article, I think he said good things, but heshould be careful on other things he said. I agree with him when he says that the university is a privilege, and that every student should be grateful studying in the UPR. Now I don’t agree when hesaid that all students who where in the strike, use their Pell Grants to pay for drugs and alcohol, and that’s calling them drug addicts and alcoholics; some use them for that, but all that it’s justoutrageous. For me that comment was very unnecessary and uncalled for, if he thinks that, he better keep it to himself. I’m also sure that on the “dialogue” part, that he says the students wanted tocreate chaos is also unnecessary, because I’m pretty sure that both parts could have had a peaceful and calm solution to the problem, but for certain reasons (unknown to me) the students had to go onstrike. Another thing that bugs me here is that he only talks against the students, but what about the Government that caused this problem in the first place, with their funds and cuts in them. Now in my opinion, I think that the students that where on the strike just wanted to protect their money, sinceI know that some people, even with the Pell Grant, have economic troubles and sometimes even that scholarship is not enough to be sustained; and some people avoid loans, because after they finish...
