Dear Mr. President,
I am writing you because Iam totally disagree with “Arizona Immigration Law SB-1070”, if they approved the bill, I guess that Texas would be the second to have the same law, which isirrelevant since most people that live in Texas are Latinos. This country is mostly known for its freedom so approving this law now the United States of Americawill be compared as German’s Nazi and Russian’s Communism techniques.
Most of Latinos in Arizona are from families that have been in America for generations, they no longer speak Spanish and most of them do not even know their roots, so it would be discriminative if only for the color of the skin or the way they look, they will be judged.
As a minority, I think this is unfair and this will indirectly affect white people also. For example: a company has 500 employees and 20%of them are foreign people, most of them with the appearance of Latino. If officers are able to stop them just because the way they look, they will start to getlate to work. The company will begin to reduce the production losing millions of dollars.
In my opinion, you should promote more help for immigrants andmotivate them to get higher education because immigrants like us are looking for a better status of life. Immigrants are professional people, we are educated and weneed an opportunity to be successful because our success in this country will be positive for the nation economy and for us.
Sincerely: Alida P. Guillén.
