The business is a sole proprietorship called Pitre Equipment Repair which repairs photocopying equipment for local Toronto companies. Enter the transactions using theGeneral Journal or the account registers, and start from September 1, 2013. GST is 5%. There is no PST.
The files for the company can be found on the P drive inside a file called HOLNO/ACCT150.Copy the file called “Case 2” to your C drive. Open QuickBooks and connect the company’s file. Change the name of the company in the Company Information window to “Pitre, Your Last Name, Your studentnumber”. Your Name is actually your name and your student number is your student number.
Enter the following source documents in the General Journal or account registers for the month of September.Sept 2 The business owner put additional money in the amount of $10,XXX (where XXX = the last three numbers of your student number) into the business. Received a bank credit memo (CM#2156) showing themoney was put in the bank today.
Sept 3 Purchased from Alicia Muir Company additional store equipment for $3,000 plus GST. Paid the invoice (#234T67) with cheque #YYY (where YYY = the middle threenumbers of your student number).
Sept 8 Paid $1,100 to Jim Peterson for shop salaries using the next cheque in sequence, of which $400 is for September and $700 is for August.
Sept 10 Received $1,200cash/cheques from customers for services performed in September. GST is extra. (Use the GST Payable account)
Sept 11 Paid the September rent of $500 plus GST to Markham Properties by the nextsequenced cheque.
Sept 12 Performed services and received cash/cheques for services provided, $900 plus GST.
Sept 17 Purchased additional office supplies from BOD Office Accessories, $1,575 (GSTincluded). Used the next cheque.
Sept 20 The bank withdrew $1,000 from the bank account for a principal payment on the loan payable. Received a debit memo from the bank (DM#56823).
