This paper is of explanatory purpose, talking about an specific hormone and a neurotransmitter in orderto show where they are originated and where their effect takes place, if given the case that with the absence or excess of this hormone I will talk about the possible disease function.
Hormone:Relaxin
The hormone chosen is relaxin which is part of the super family of insulin consisting of 7 peptides which have low sequence similarity although they have a high structure.
Relaxin-1 (RLN1),2(RLN2),3 (RLN3) and the rest are insulin peptides (INSL) INSL3, INSL4, INSL5 and INSL6.
This hormone is not only produced in woman but in male, in woman this hormone is produced by the corpusluteum, part of the ovary, the breast and, while pregnant, I the placenta, chorion and deciduas.
In male this hormone enhances motility of sperm in semen. While in females it works in both pregnant andnon pregnant, in pregnant it has already been explained above but for non regnant it will be explained now, the effect of relaxin in non pregnant woman causes a peak that lasts about fourteen days, and declines if there is an absence of pregnancy during this time causing, in woman, menstruation.
During the first three months of pregnancy the regulation quantity of this hormone is amplifiedand the decidua.
In other animals the function of relaxin-hormone is different, in the other animals relaxin widens their pubic bone facilitating the labor in addition it relaxes the uterinmusculature by softening the cervix.
This hormone reacts with the receptors belonging to the super family called G protein-coupled receptor. In it there is a large glycosylated ectodomain and a...
