Notes As the FloCheck is usually either open or closed, calculations are based on pressure loss across the check valve when fully open at different flow rates. Pressure Loss for Liquids PD = ( Q2 x Gf ) ÷ Cv2 Pressure Loss for Gases PD = ((Gg x T ) ÷ P ) x (( Q 2 ÷ ( 1360 x Cv )2 ) Key PD = Pressure Drop (psi) Q = Flow Rate Liquid: US gallons per minute Gas : Standard cu. ft. per hour = Specific Gravity of fluid e.g. water = 1 for 60°F at 1 ATM = Specific Gravity of gas e.g. gas = 1 for 60°F at 1 ATM = Valve Flow Coefficient ( see table opposite ) = Absolute Temperature (°F + 460 ) = Absolute vapour pressure for liquid at inlettemperature in PSIA ( psi + 14.7 ).
