“The reformation of the catholic answer”

For being an attempt to reform the Christian Church looking for the revitalisation of the primitiveChristianity and that was supported politically by an important group of princes and monarchs who “protested” against a decision of the emperor. This movement sankits roots in elements of the medieval catholic tradition (the second generation of the humanism followed that reform)

Several movements like those arisefrom Martin Lutero and Juan Calvino

It depended on the support of some civilian authorities to be able to reform Christian churches of state scope. Some stopped recognizing the Pope. Many wanted to reform but they did not know how to, and they make a council (council of trento). (Pastor,2007 - Santos,2009)

The theologians joined in the council proclaim certain dogmas that are to be represented with dignity by the artists the service of the Church :the virginity of Maria, the mystery of the Trinidad etc. The church was first in understanding the limitless power of the art like vehicle of propaganda andideological control. One demands all the artists who move away of the sophisticated processings in order to take to end an art simple, direct, easy toread, that any faithful who comes near to a church can understand immediately. The emphasis of the action has to be placed on the dramatic quality. The scenesbecome dynamic, the lights, the colors, the shades multiply and offer a showy and attractive image of the religion and its protagonists. (Hermoso, 2007)
