a) PERSONAL COMPUTER
These computers, also known as microcomputers or PC are designed for an individual user. The microprocessor used is CPU (Central Processing Unit). Applications most commonlyused in this type of computers are spreadsheets, word processing, navigation, internet, email, games, music, among others.
In relation to its mobility, distinguishes two types of personal computers:
*Laptops
* desktops
Laptops, also known as notebooks or laptops, are characterized by being small and light to be able to be transported easily. They can be operated using a power outlet either withbattery. They have a LCD screen, keyboard and pointer.
The desk, on the other hand, are larger and powered outlet. These computers have separate monitor cabinet (although there are exceptions),mouse and keyboard.
b) SERVERS AND WORKSTATIONS
The workstations are computers can be used by one or more users, since they are more powerful than the personal. These computers, which may have one ormore microprocessors, can be used as file or print servers. In addition, they are capable of processing data of more than one user at the time that they are connected via terminals.
c) MINICOMPUTERSThis type is located between the personal and the macrocomputadoras. Like these, the microcomputers have the ability to handle a larger number of inputs and outputs that a PC. Although they tend to bedesigned for a single user, there are which can handle hundreds of users simultaneously.
d) MAINFRAME OR MACROCOMPUNTADORA
The macrocomputadoras have a large size and are useful for handling a largenumber of storage, input and output. On these computers, users connect via terminals whose procedure tasks are delegated to the central computer.
e) SUPERCOMPUTERS
They are the strongest on themarket and it is extremely fast to carrying out hundreds of millions of instructions per second. It is like a macrocomputadora but optimized for their computing power and speed. They are used for tasks...
