Ditribution´s role whithin a marketing mix is getting the product to its target market. The first critical activity in getting a product to market isarranging for its sale and the transfer of title from producer to final customer.
A middleman is a business firma that renders services related directly to the sale and/or purchase of a product as itflows from producer to customer, agent middlemen neve own the products, but they do arrange the transfer of title
Middlemen may be able to carry out distribution activities better or more cheaplythan products, consumers, or even other middlemen
To design channels that satisfy customers and outdo competition, an organized approach is required, there are four decisions, 1) specify the role ofdistribution, 2) select the type of channel, 3) determine intensity of distribution 4) choose specific channel members
