Chapter 1: Growing up at Jigalonng.
Jigalon was a long way from anywhere, right out in the desert. In the early years when Jigalon it was only asmall depot for the white men who worked on the rabbit-proof fence.
In 1930 the Mardu people decided that Jigalon should be a good place to create herhome.
Molly was a young aborigine who grew up in Jigalong, where Mardu children smite a molly with his harsh words because she was different to them.The mother of Molly, Maude, told him that her aunties have got a two daughters aboriginal, like she. And soon they would be moved to here. In few timethe girls become as sister, Molly, Gracie and Daisy does always toghether.
The government of the white man saw as the number of children half-casteswere increased more and more, the government decided to build two school where they learns how to become domestic servants and farm workers. Allaboriginal children off Australia were taken away from her families and sent to these school, for to learn to live hoe the white man.
The years passed, and thegovernment officers all around the country, these were looking for the aboriginal children. These arrived even to Jigalon. Notes were kept at thedepot and stations, sent reports and letters, orders were given. These orders were precise, they said that Molly (14 years), Gracie (10 years) and Daisy (8years) need a change in her life and they will be sent to Moore River Natice Settlement, where they will stay with other aboriginal childrens.
