Chapter 1

Tony Montana saw the clock on the classroom wall anxiously. It was the last day of the school and it was ten minutes to three. “Ten minutes until the parties start” he whispered tohis cousin Many Rivera. Many´s table was in front of Tony´s.
Mr. Anselmo their teacher, heard Tony´s voice. He was fat, small man with brown hair and he was very waspishness. Helook unhappy at the boys.
“Be quiet” he told as he started to give the students their end of term grade. The grades were in white envelopes and the students had to take them home totheir parents.
“You have done well this period”. Mr.Anselmo told Many “keep up the good work”.
Mr. Anselmo didn´t feel good when the gave Tony his grades listed, he gave his a stern.“You can do better than this” he told Tony. “You must work harder next period”.
The bell sound and all the students took up their bags and left the room. Tony and Many wentoutside between. Their bicycles were parked under a small plants the front steps of the school.
“What´s the matter?” Many asked Tony “You look sad” Tony open his bicycle charm. “ I amsad” he told. “Look at my grade! My parents won´t be impressed. They want me to be a good student like you, but I just can´t do it. School I so unfunny!”.
Many couldn´t understand hisfriend´s feeling. “I like school”, said Many. Besides, I need to work hard. I want to become an engineer like my dad”.
Tony frowned. “My dad is the boss of a shoe factory. That´s notvery wonderful or funny”, he said.
Many got on his bicycle. “ Do you want to go to Cinema this evening?” he asked.
“Yes, thanks”, Tony said. Also tomorrow “ I´ll call you”. Theboys go to the cinema later. When Tony arrived to his house his parents were still at work. He left his grade on the dinning room table, made himself a quesadilla and went to his room.
