The Mystery in the Box 5
The new managers, Mr. Richard and Mr. Moncharmin, got another letter from the Opera Ghost. It was thanking them for notkicking out Christine Daae and reminding them not to sell box 5 and reminding them the lease. Mr. Richard and Mr. Moncharmin think it’s the old manager’smessing with them and offer the seats on box five to the old managers. The next morning they received two letters one from the Opera Ghost saying that Christineperformance was excellent and one from the old managers thanking them for the offer of box 5 but they cannot used it because it belongs to the Opera Ghost. Thatnight they sold box five, but the people that bought the seats were kick out because they were making a lot of noise and they said that someone said the boxwas taken.
The next day the managers called Mrs. Giry, the boxkeeper, to ask her what happened the night before, and she said “The ghost has been annoyedagain”. They ask her if she had ever talk to the ghost and she said that he once ask her for a footstool. Mrs. Giry also said that he was not a ghost that he was aman and that he leaves her tips and sometimes flowers. Mrs. Giry also said that he ones left a fan and she had brought it back the next day and he left herEnglish candy. The managers decided to dismiss Mrs. Giry. Mr. Richard and Mr. Moncharmin went to examine the theater and both thought they saw something but whenthey went into box 5 the dint saw anything. The two managers still thought they were being prank and decided to watch the performance in box 5 on Saturday.
