Charles I. Clough Jr. has been active in the securities and investment business for over 30 years.His experience covers most analytical functions from research analyst to portfolio management. In January 2000, Mr. Clough founded Clough Capital Partners LP, a private investment firm located inBoston. For 13 years prior to this, Mr. Clough served as the chief investment strategist at Merrill Lynch & Co., where he was responsible for directing the global investment strategy research effort forthe world's largest investment firm. Using a theme-based investment approach, Mr. Clough advised many of the world's top institutions and investors on portfolio strategy. He was named to theInstitutional Investor All-America Research Team for 12 consecutive years and earned first-place rankings on three separate occasions. Mr. Clough has been consistently recognized as a top strategist in areassuch as U.S. equities, global investments and fixed income. Prior to his tenure at Merrill Lynch, Mr. Clough was director of investment policy and chief strategist at Cowen & Co. Previously, hehad been director of research and portfolio manager at the Boston Company, portfolio manager at Colonial Management Associates and vice president and senior research analyst for Donaldson, Lufkin &Jenrette and Alliance Capital Management Co. Mr. Clough serves on the boards of a number of educational, hospital and charitable institutions, including his alma mater, Boston College, where hecurrently serves as chairman of the board of trustees. He is also an ordained deacon in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston and serves in that capacity at his local parish in Concord, Mass. Mr. Cloughgraduated magna cum laude in economics from Boston College and earned an MBA at the University of Chicago.
