Chávez health condition
On Sunday December 30, 2012, the health status of President Hugo Chávez remains delicate; he was undergoing treatment for continued respiratory complicationsand is not exempt from risk, said on Sunday night Executive Vice-President Nicolás Maduro, from Havana, Cuba, in a mandatory radio and television address intended to report on Chávez's health 19 daysafter his third cancer operation.
Maduro said that once he arrived in the Cuban capital on Saturday, he went to the hospital were Chávez is being treated to ascertain the state of health of theVenezuelan President. He reported that he spoke with Chávez and informed him of the latest developments in Venezuela. For his part, Chávez instructed Maduro to disclose his health status.
On MondayDecember 31, 2012, at night time, according to the Minister of Science and Technology, and also son-in-law of Venezuelan President, Jorge Arreaza, the President was stable and calm in Havana, Cuba, where heis recovering from a cancer operation performed on December 11.
