“Solved problems and resolve conflicts”

As I was carrying on with my day normally coming out of my restroom I saw a little girl that had fell out of the stroller. There was no parent in sight so I approached her asking her if she’s okay? She began to cry. The first thought to my head was don’t’ panic and try remain patient and calm. I helped the little girl get back on her stroller. After I assisted the little girl I started to communicate with her and asking her where is her mom. Before I even knew it I saw her mom and her sister coming in from the corner to see what happened to her. I had explained to her the situation and thatif anything even though the girl said she wasn’t hurt I recommended taking her to the First Aid if she changes her mind because I felt a responsibility in my role to at least inform her that we can take care of that situation here also. When I was done having the conversation with her mother I saw that the little girls ice cream had fell on the ground. I told her mom if she wanted me toreplace her ice cream and at first she said it’s not really necessary but I proceeded to persuade her to get a new ice cream and at the end she said “okay”. I worked quickly and told them I would be right back and went to the nearest ice cream place. I called my manager to inform him about what had happened and he gave me the okay to do it. I got the ice cream for the little girl very fast. I wentback to them and dropped down to the little girls’ level and handed her ice cream. She had the biggest smile on her face and she said thank you to me. I felt so appreciated that just a little thing like that can put a smile on a little girls face.

“Frequently learned skills andprocedures”

It was my first day on the custodial job. I had gotten restrooms that day. I go to the stock room to sign in and my partner, Alex. I have not been there not even 30 minutes and I got called in for a code v. I told my manager I would take care of it. I panicked a little because it was my first code v I’ve ever done. But I calmed down and collected myself and thought about whatthings I should bring with me. Since in the call my manager said it was in door the Tower of Terror merchandise shop I brought Oxivir, gloves, towels, and a bag. Alex also volunteered to assist me with the code v. We went off to the area of Tower and right as we went in we saw where the code v was at. I took out the things we are going for this and prepared the area. Alex maintained the people awayfrom the code v area while I proceeded to clean it up. I took out the towels and put them on top of the code v. Then I put Oxivir on top of the towels and counted for one minute with my watch so that the Oxivir would complete its process. I wiped the floor down and put the towels inside a plastic bag. During the whole procedure I was very cautious not to get code v on me. When I was done withit the people at the merchandise shop thanked me for helping them clean up the area. I felt I was very courageous because I was dreading the day I would have to do a code v but I found out it’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I also felt proud of myself that I managed to keep my composure while I was completing this spontaneous task on my first day on the job.
