Chess is math because it has an infinite number of calculations that you have to make in order to know in how many moves you strategy will work. You will also learn to calculate,foresee, and adjust to the strategy of your opponent. Chess is science because it helps you develop a scientific way of thinking. You have to create new strategies and predict their results. You haveto make your own hypothesis, make your move, and test it to see if it is an effective theory. Chess is art because you will think of the endless possibilities you can do on the 64 squares that makeup the board. You will paint pictures in your mind of the perfect positions for your soldiers, and as a chess artist, you will develop an original style.
Many do not think that chess is a sportbecause there is very little physical activity, but chess masters assure that it can be more brutal that boxing. A study at Temple University reported that chess tournaments cause physical changes similarto a comparable session of boxing or football. The definition of sport is a regulated game in which there is competition and it is based on mental, body, mechanics, cybernetics, random, orethological activities.
