1. In a paragraph explain why Chief Seattle believes white people have a different God from that of NativeAmericans.
Chief Seattle believed white people had a different God from Native American because he believed that their God hated them because he forsaken them. The white people were growingcontinuously and taking control of the lands while the native were enclosed in reservations with little land. He expresses that God was partial because he help the white people, making them stronger while theNative Americans were in decay. White people religious beliefs were written by an angry God on tables of stone and that is why the whites were so hateful and angry. The Native Americans beliefs camefrom their ancient history and their respect for the land and these traditions beliefs are orally told generation by generation with love and respect and a generous heart. In the end Chief Seattletells that it’s good that they stay apart because God separated them by the actions of the whites.
2. Chief Seattle says that he think the offer of the white is “fair’’ and that he think his peoplewill accept the offer and retire to the reservation. Judging from his speech, do you think this main reason approving the proposal is that it is fair?
Judging the speech I believe that they willaccept the offer because for the little of them left around there is really no brighter future. The offer is not fair but they are at a point where there is no other option but to take it. In thereservations they will continue their life but restricted to that piece of land. There they will mourn the glorious days that they left behind.
3. In 250 words explain why Chief Seattle believes that thewhites and Native Americans can never be reconciled, and evaluate his view.
