Dead Little Girl
I wrote this poem in rage after learning about the child prostitution industry that is still continuing today. I want to raise awareness about child abuse and put a stop tothis filth. So please rate my poem, and look after yourselves. The world is a cruel, horrible place...

She sits pretty with her brown eyes wide
Lookingso sweet but she's dead inside (irony
With her round cheeks rouged and lips daubed red
Looks for a lover to lure into bed
Little air kisses blown in the air
Cute cotton ribbons tied inher hair (alliteration)
Smiles and curtsies, spins round and round
Grinding her innocence into the ground
Pockets of pennies, money gallore
Skips like an angel into the store
Buys toffees,lollies, dresses with frills (assonance)
Goes back for brandy to take with the pills

Waits for her boss to kiss her goodnight
Tongues and lips linger after the light
Sugary breath, a sadkind of taste
Years of this little girl's life's gone to waste
Sadness and pain both hidden away
Locked deep in her heart, day after day
Lost in pretence as she starts the show
Brightsmile switched on so that no-one will know
Pockets of pennies, money gallore
Earned from a trade condemned by the law
Clutching her doll tight, she's armed to kill
Back sore from bending toher boss's will

Stands on street corners from six 'til ten (alliteration)
Keeping her eye out for lonely men
Skirt cut short and her stockings pulled high
Teeth gritted tight as shetries not to cry
Feels a coarse hand grip onto her waist
Five eager fingers fumble in haste
Paper notes crinkle inside her fist
Wishes to die as she is softly kissed
Pockets of pennies, moneygalore
Spoils from the men seek a child whore
Skips with a noose on the grave yard green
Crowns herself with thorns as the infant queen (metonymy)
