The 2013 Statistical Yearbook of Mexican Cinema is a compendium of figures, tables, graphs, descriptions and brief analyses of various aspects of the production, distribution, exhibition, transmission,
commercialization and consumption of domestic films in the country, as well as their presence on
commercial screens and at festivals abroad.
2013 marked the highest attendance to Mexican cinemain recent history, while it continued to
be present at the main international festivals, receiving awards and recognition. In addition, domestic
movies are more and more likely to reach audiences through internet and Digital Terrestrial Television
(DTT). One of the goals of this statistical compendium is to offer the most complete and accurate
overview of these and other circumstancesaffecting national films during this period.
In this edition, the outlook was broadened to offer data on the infrastructure for cultural exhibition of domestic films, as well as a more in depth review of the distribution of motion pictures in
alternative and cultural circuits in cities throughout the country; at the same time, it offers the
makers of low budget films accessible tools to design andcarry out their releases.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Mexican Film Institute makes available to citizens, professionals and specialists, a record of this industrial, cultural and artistic activity, a great Mexican cultural
tradition.

El Anuario estadístico de cine mexicano 2013 es un compendio decifras, cuadros, gráficas, descripciones y breves análisis sobre diversos aspectos de la producción, distribución, exhibición, transmisión,
comercialización y prácticas de consumo del cine nacional en el país, así como su presencia en pantallas comerciales y festivales en el extranjero.
En 2013 se lograron los más altos índices de asistencia a cine mexicano en la historia reciente y
se mantuvopresencia en los principales certámenes internacionales, en los que se obtuvieron premios
y reconocimientos. Asimismo, las películas tienen cada vez más posibilidades de llegar al público
por medio de Internet y la Televisión Digital Terrestre. Uno de los propósitos de este compendio estadístico es ofrecer un panorama lo más completo y cercano posible a estas y otras circunstancias
que definieron elcine nacional en dicho periodo.
En esta edición se ampliaron las perspectivas para ofrecer datos acerca de la infraestructura cultural de exhibición del cine nacional, así como una revisión más a fondo de la distribución de las películas en circuitos alternativos y culturales en las ciudades del país; de manera paralela se dan
herramientas primarias de análisis a los profesionales de películasde bajo presupuesto accesibles
para el ejercicio y diseño de sus estrenos.
Por cuarto año consecutivo, el Instituto Mexicano de Cinematografía pone al alcance de ciudadanos, profesionales y especialistas un registro sobre este quehacer industrial, cultural y artístico de
gran tradición para los mexicanos.
