Dear Customers,
2009 was characterized by extensive business activity based on two fundamental principles: technological
innovation and new business partnerships.
Sivan Design listens to its customers, and in 2009 important improvements were made, such as:
• Road’s layers separation in horizontal alignment.
• Automatic segments recognition for centerline creation.
• Pipelinesdisplay in road’s cross sections.
New features were added to CivilCAD 2010 many capabilities, like:
• Road’s extreme point’s height display in horizontal alignment.
• Extension of existing road (fully designed road).
Sivan Design also made important improvements in Civil Simulate:
• New GUI (Graphic User Interface) for 3D simulation.
• Automatic recognition and build of intersections asjunctions\bridges.

In the installation process it is strongly advised to follow the installation instructions and go
through the entire 'Setup completion wizard' steps to fit the software to personal working
methods.

This document presents the software's major improvements and new features.The changes are
serially listed, and divided into the following subjects:

GENERAL
1. Supporting AutoCAD 2010 version
CivilCAD 2010 supports AutoCAD 2010 version and earlier versions of AutoCAD.
Sivan Design will support every new version of AutoCAD in thefuture.

2. New License

Sivan Design developed a new licensing system which is suitable for local licenses
as well as for network licenses.
CivilCAD2010 can be purchased without a copy protection dongle and licensing process
can be done automatically in the Internet or manually by Email.
In order to use CivilCAD 2010 with the protection plug/dongle, it should be updated, or an
activationcode should be installed.
Click ‘Activate’ if you already obtained the activation code or ‘Cancel’ to quit.

3. Road’s Layers Separation in Horizontal Alignment

In the new version, layers ‘Edges’ & ‘Sections’ has been separated to the following layers:
• ‘Edges_Left’ / ‘Edges_Right’ for road’s edges lines.
• ‘Ditch_Left’ / ‘Ditch_Right’ for ditches lines including shoulders.
• ‘Berm_Left’ /‘Berm_Right’ for berms lines.
• ‘Ditch_Elev’ / ‘Berm_Elev’ for heights data on horizontal alignment’s sections.
• ‘Incline’ for slope’s marks in horizontal alignments.
• Section’s name has been separated from section’s mark layer (‘Sections’) to ‘Sections_Name’
layer.

4. Extension of Existing Road (Fully Designed Road)

In the new version, we added a new feature for extending a fully designed road.
To use this feature:
• From CivilCAD main menu, go to 'Roads Horizontal Alignments Tools'.
• Select ‘Line_Line_Curve’ option.
• In AutoCAD Command Line you will be asked to select the ‘first’ line. Select...
